One of the earliest examples of the current wave of food magazines, Put a Egg On It was founded in now-distant 2008 in New York, inspired
by the fanzines covering punk and underground music from the Eighties and Nineties. It is printed on special green paper, and it is described
as an “irreverent” magazine. Of course, the fashion-art inspiration of similar magazines does not correspond to that of Put a Egg On It, which is
completely dif erent. For example, its cover pages are more likely to feature people eating something, while its contents are focused on real literary
articles, personal essays, dinner and party pictures – more than on food writing. However, the magazine is certainly not lacking in recipes.
