WINE—LITERATURE AWARD
Santa Margherita is convinced that the knowledge of wine is part of knowledge as a whole and has proven its determination to support the best Italian and local culture by setting up the first 2006 edition of the Santa Margherita Wine-Literature Award that has gradually become an unmissable appointment for lovers of good food, wine and literature. Together with a growing number of participants consisting of new writers who put themselves to the test by writing stories made up of about 700 words, the Award has also attracted many prestigious contemporary authors with original and non-participating stories, namely Giovanni Montanaro, Eva Cantarella, Benedetta Cibrario, Simonetta Agnello Hornby, Michele Serra, Enrico Ruggeri, Gad Lerner any many more who have made their authoritative contribution to new literary blends of wine culture, personal creativity and imagination.
The Santa Margherita Wine-Literature Award has also had the privilege of counting on high-ranking juries: Inge Feltrinelli, the President, has been aided by eminent personalities from the world of Italian culture, show business, journalism and wine and food experts. The actors Monica Guerritore and Neri Marcorè, the journalists Sebastiano Barisoni, Bruno Gambacorta, Franz Botrè and Fiammetta Fadda, the chef Sergio Mei and the tailor Gianni Battistoni are just some of the celebrities who have contributed to choosing the winners of the past editions of the Santa Margherita Wine-Literature Award.
