Strawberry clafouti

Ingredients for a 28 cm-wide baking tray:

300 g of strawberries

3 eggs

100 g of sugar

100 g of flour

200 g of milk

A pinch of salt

The seeds of 1 vanilla pod

 

Cooking instructions: 

Wash the strawberries and cut them in half. Place them in a bowl, sprinkle with a tablespoon of sugar and leave them to rest.

Meanwhile prepare the batter for the tart: beat the eggs with the sugar until you obtain a clear, frothy mixture. Add the flour, salt and vanilla and mix together well. 

Finally, add the milk (at room temperature) a little at a time and continue stirring. Butter a baking tray and cover the whole of its base with strawberries, then pour over the batter.

Bake the clafouti in a hot oven at 180 °C (356 °F) for about 50 minutes, until its surface is golden. Leave it to cool before serving.
