EXPLORING TASTE—SANTA MARGHERITA GRUPPO VINICOLO

          Massimiliano Alajmo grew up in a family of chefs. His parents founded a restaurant named Le Calandre,
          which was awarded its f rst Michelin star during their management and which he runs today, f nding

          his own way along a path that had already been paved for him. In addition to that f rst star, two more
          have been awarded as a reward for providing conscious, simple cuisine, paying painstaking attention to
          the ingredients used, expressing great passion and a tireless thirst for knowledge. When we went to visit
          him, we spoke about gastronomy, which for him was like speaking about his life and, naturally, recalling
          memories, customs and traditions. Whether they are aroused by creating a dish or tasting it, whether

          we are aware of them or not, memories are a fundamental element of pleasure. Especially for those who,
          like Massimiliano, have breathed gastronomy since they were children.
