Milan may have been known in the past as the city for cocktails and aperitifs, but an all-round gastronomic experience was undoubtedly the order of the day when the products of the Santa Margherita Wine Group were featured recently at “Unico”, the restaurant of chef Fabrizio Ferrari, which overlooks Italy’s second city from the vantage point of the twentieth floor of the WJC Tower.
“Unico” is a sort of icon of the “new” Milan which, in the wake of the success of last year’s Expo, has once again become one of the “coolest” cities in the world: here fine cuisine is linked to the quest for first-class ingredients and to innovation, in order to create new and ever more fascinating flavors.
The exclusive, stylish and refined dinner offered avant-garde dishes that were a combination of supreme taste and lifestyle. This innovative cuisine put the wines of Santa Margherita to the test, giving them the opportunity to display their proverbial capacity for being matched with food.
The diners were also able to appreciate the superb skyline of Milan, from the spires of the Cathedral as far as the foothills of the Alps: a view that is as breathtakingly varied as Fabrizio Ferrari’s new and exquisite recipes.
