Type: still red wine Varietal: Cabernet Franc Appellation: Lison-Pramaggiore D.O.C. Alcohol Content: 12,5% by vol. Bottle Size: 75 cl, 37.5 cl Cellaring: 4/5 years
Imported from France in 1800, the Cabernet Franc grape has become a firm favourite amongst wine-growers of the Eastern Veneto region. Like other reds grown in the Lison-Pramaggiore area, this Cabernet Franc is richer and ages better than the Cabernet from other regions. This is partly due to the well-drained soils of calcareous clay and to the advanced vinification skills of the local wine-growers.
The must is left on the skins for 8/12 days and is then placed in special tanks where fermentation is completed in contact with selected yeasts in 8-10 days at 25°-30° C.
Tasting notes Dark ruby red color. Characteristic grassy flavour when young, moderately tannic, with a very fine, harmonious body.
Culinary suggestions Serve with roasted or braised red meats or game. Its full flavour perfectly accompanies aged cheeses.
