Franciacorta, a "noble" land located in the district of Brescia, is out of the
most typical touring routes, but it is with no doubt worth a visit, easy to reach
from Milan, Brescia, Bergamo. We chose it as a goal for our Easter itinerary.
An area bordering the valleys around Brescia and Iseo Lake: today it is famous
for its well-known wines -especially sparkling wines, but it is known since long
time as a holiday place for the noble, which once used to pass here their vacations.
As a trace of these times we can still see several splendid and wonderful villas
from different ages and, on soft hills covered by vine rows, little villages full
of history, tradition, art and culture... Springtime
tears Tears of Passion, but also tears from the vine: in April they
are cut, so they really let sap tears out of the cutting points: it is the first
vine's sign of awakening which will reach its top with vintage. Franciacorta:
among villas and vines This itinerary runs along from Brescia to the
Iseo Lake through little boroughs, splendid villas, wonderful churchs among green
hills and vines. Traditional Easter
Among religious celebrations, Easter is probably the less overwhelmed by consumism;
There are still reflection and little things in it, its symbols are simple and
true, from pain to salvation. It is resurrection turned into joy. For
those who love nature Iseo Lake is a real must for people who love
the beauty of nature: there you can visit Monte Isola, the biggest lake island
in Europe, and the park Torbiere del Sebino, a green oasis where many species
of fish and waterbirds live in their natural habitat.
