Going across the country, through its narrow streets, it would be hard to find
straight roads: there's just a few houses, and you would not so often see villages,
cars or farm tractors. On your sides there are fields and hills, cornfields and
vines; here's a farm, a little bar, a canteen. You will find forgotten smells,
rare noises, colours, which still keep on changing according to the different
seasons. Here you are, in the country: here it is completely flat, there rippled
by little hills; here it is at a mountain's foot, there it is a balcony on the
sea. The country you may visit by this itinerary is Tuscany: it's the richest
in history, art and culture; it is the land of Chianti Classico, between Florence
and Siena. For a full immersion in this land, we'll visit it in a "green way",

by Greve in Chianti, in the sixteenth century cellar by Fattoria
Pile e Lamole: a journey in the past centuries by tasting different kinds
of Chianti Classico with "Lamole di Lamole" mark (visits should be reserved, tel.
0577-738186): among these, the well-known Riserva Campolungo, produced with the
help of a brand new wine-making equipement. Not very far from there, we can pass
to eighteenth century, with the splendid white villa in Vistarenni's estate, between
Radda and Gaiole, homeland of the Codirosso wine, a prestigious "supertuscan",
as Americans call it, from Sangiovese and Cabernet vines: you can taste it in
an amazing cellar entirely dug in the rock (tel. 0577-738186). These wines are
firm in their "body" and structure, but also elegant, delicate, velvety as Tuscany
