A Gaetano Marzotto va il “Lifetime Achievement Award 2019”
The “Lifetime Achievement Award 2019” goes to Gaetano Marzotto, for the 15th edition of the Meininger Awards “Excellence in wine & spirit”.
Gaetano Marzotto, President of Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo, was awarded the prestigious “Lifetime Achievement” award on the occasion of the 15th edition of the Meininger Awards “Excellence in wine & spirit”.
The awards ceremony took place yesterday evening (Saturday 16 March) in Düsseldorf, in the presence of over 600 guests, including many prominent personalities from the international wine world, just on the eve of the 25th edition of Prowein, one of the most important in the world for the wine sector.
Il premio, attribuito in passato a personalità di primissimo piano nel panorama enoico mondiale come Gina Gallo, Miguel A. Torres, Fritz Keller, Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Angelo Gaia, Margrit Biever-Mondavi e Marvin R. Shanken, è stato assegnato da una giuria tecnica composta dai giornalisti delle testate enologiche di Meininger Verlag – ossia Weinwirtschaft, Wine Business International, Sommelier e Weinwelt – i quali hanno voluto valorizzare gli eccellenti risultati ottenuti da Gaetano Marzotto nel corso della sua lunga carriera nel comparto vino. Insieme ai fratelli Stefano, Luca e Nicolò, ha saputo infatti dare lustro ad un’importante eredità familiare, alimentandola con visione, passione e dedizione, mettendo così a segno un’inarrestabile stagione di crescita per Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo fino a trasformarlo - anche grazie a uno dei più massicci piani di investimento realizzati nel settore vinicolo italiano (oltre 242 milioni di euro dal 2005 ad oggi, con un raddoppio in termini di occupazione) - in una delle realtà produttive private più importanti d’Italia.
A consegnare il premio nelle mani di Gaetano Marzotto è Ilka Lindemann, Caporedattore di Weinwelt, sotto lo sguardo benevolo dei patron della serata, gli editori Andrea e Christoph Meininger, ai quali Gaetano Marzotto ha rivolto un emozionato ringraziamento.

I am proud that this award comes from Germany, a market traditionally very attentive to the quality of Italian wines and always capable of giving great satisfaction to our sector.»
