In the commune of Sambuca, between Menfi (Memphis) and Sciacca in the Province of Agrigento, lies the splendid estate of 285 hectares (705 acres) run by Silene S.r.l., surrounded by bare valleys enriched only by the presence of almond and olive groves.
The soil of the vineyards, which overlook Lake Arancio, contains a high proportion of characteristically light-colored clay.
The Terrelíade range stems from a program of research and experimentation, in which indigenous and international grape varieties have been allowed to interrelate with a particularly high quality terroir: one that displays numerous and varied facets, and which therefore brings out a whole range of different typical characteristics in the grapes and the wines made from them. It is this innovative philosophy that lies behind the creation of distinctive and original wines such as Timpa Giadda and Nirà.
